MS4 & Vision – Vision User Group Conference 2010 – In Full Swing

See MedSeries4 interoperability solutions presented in the context of patient and data workflow. From the time the family doctor refers the patient to hospital, through inpatient stay and multi-department services, to patient discharge and beyond, we’ll demonstrate the ways in which MedSeries4 provides interoperability of patient data, both clinical and financial, to and from other systems, including highlights on meeting Interoperability Meaningful Use attestation and HIE.

This presentation introduces the basics of Siemens OPENLink; the key to interoperability. The tools for building an HL7 interface will be discussed and we will explore monitoring, where you will gain an understanding of how to ensure your interfaces are functioning. This session has been updated in 2012 to include new features introduced in Siemens OPENLink v23.9.

AUDIENCE: IT staff who would like an introduction to Siemens OPENLink functionality

In this session we will establish what a Continuity of Care Document (CCD) is, demonstrate what it looks like, and walk you through the MedSeries4 user interface for generating, importing, and working with CCDs. All CCD function configuration steps and dependencies will be covered as we review the MedSeries4 Industry Code Master Files required to support CCD content, drill down into what patient data a CCD contains, introduce the Siemens applications involved, and discuss implementation dependencies and workflow considerations.

AUDIENCE: Intermediate

HL7, the ‘non-standard’ standard, is a key component to interoperability. Have you ever heard technical folks talk about HL7 messages and wondered what they were? Come for this high level overview of what is contained in the segments and their meanings.

AUDIENCE: Beginning

You have new users coming in and existing users complaining that they can’t access certain features and functions within the MS4 web based applications. Come to this session to wade through the maze of GP security that provides users with proper access.

Join this session to learn how to use Siemens OPENLink tools such as secure file processing and SSL to assist you in meeting Meaningful Use requirements. Hear about tips for building interfaces more efficiently and in less time and be introduced to new and advanced product features.

AUDIENCE: Intermediate – Users should be familiar with Siemens OPENLink toolkit functionality

Meaningful Use attestation requires facilities to prove clinical patient and billing data interoperability from application to application, system to system, and setting to setting across multiple healthcare enterprises, while still providing for HIPAA privacy and security protections and maintaining the meaning of the information being exchanged. In this session we will review what the ARRA Stage 1 Meaningful Use Interoperability requirements are and cover how Siemens applications help provide the capability for MedSeries4 clients to meet them. A planning summary for anticipated ARRA Stage Two Meaningful Use will also be on the agenda. NOTE: This is not a hands-on session.
