In this session we will establish what a Continuity of Care Document (CCD) is, demonstrate what it looks like, and walk you through the MedSeries4 user interface for generating, importing, and working with CCDs. All CCD function configuration steps and dependencies will be covered as we review the MedSeries4 Industry Code Master Files required to support CCD content, drill down into what patient data a CCD contains, introduce the Siemens applications involved, and discuss implementation dependencies and workflow considerations. Meaningful Use attestation requires facilities to prove clinical patient and billing data interoperability from application to application, system to system, and setting to setting across multiple healthcare enterprises, while still providing for HIPAA privacy and security protections and maintaining the meaning of the information being exchanged. In this session we will review what the ARRA Stage 1 Meaningful Use Interoperability requirements are and cover how Siemens applications help provide the capability for MedSeries4 clients to meet them.
